Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Standing Committee to meet

Presentations of project applications Feb. 27

The next meeting of the Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, 726 Exchange St., Suite 525, Buffalo. The meeting is open to the public. The agenda includes presentations by applicants who are seeking Greenway project funding in the current round of requests.

Awards will be announced at the next meeting, Friday, March 20.

The Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee receives funds from the New York Power Authority as part of the settlement agreement related to the 50-year federal relicensing for the Niagara Power Project in 2007. During the 50-year term of the license, the committee will receive $2 million a year. It is composed of one representative from Erie County, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and NYPA.
