The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Buffalo Niagara Chapter welcomes Michael Freedman as president for the year 2020. Freedman heads a 12-person board of directors, which was recently elected by the local chapter's membership body.
Freedman, a resident of Grand Island, serves as associate vice president of enrollment marketing, communications and operations at Niagara University. He first joined PRSA in 2009, served on the chapter's e-communications committee starting in 2012 and joined the board of directors in 2017 as treasurer. As president in 2020, he will oversee a variety of local chapter initiatives, including monthly programming, the 26th annual Excalibur Awards program, and the continued evolution of the burgeoning diversity committee.
Freedman is a past recipient of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s Spotlight Professional Award and a member of Niagara County’s inaugural “12 Under 40” class. In addition to his commitment to PRSA, Freedman serves on marketing/communications committees for Leadership Niagara and the Heart, Love & Soul food pantry. He also is an adjunct professor at Niagara University and co-adviser for the university's Public Relations Student Society. Freedman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from SUNY Geneseo and an MBA in strategic marketing from Niagara University.

PRSA Buffalo Niagara Chapter is Western New York's branch of the Public Relations Society of America – a professional organization serving the communications community.
