The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops announced there is still time for local restaurants, food trucks and state wineries to apply for the 2020 summer festival. The deadline is Friday, Jan. 31. Applications can be completed online at www.tasteofbuffalo.com/apply.

“The Taste of Buffalo aims to be a true representation of Western New York's diverse food culture. Our goal for this year is to expand menu offerings far beyond the usual Buffalo staples," said 2020 Taste of Buffalo Chair Erin Collins. "If your restaurant or food truck fits that bill, we encourage you to apply! Participating in our event is a great way to reach people who might not otherwise know about your business."

The Taste of Buffalo will take place on July 11 and 12 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo. To be considered for entry, brick-and-mortar restaurants must be open to the public, operate year-round in Western New York, and offer seating at their principle place of business. Wineries must be open year-round in the Niagara Escarpment, Lake Erie or Finger Lakes wine region.

The Taste of Buffalo is the nation's largest two-day food festival. The 37th annual event will take place along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo. More than 1,000 volunteers will help put on the annual event.

Since its inception, approximately $538,000 has been raised at the festival for local charities. Five $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to local high school seniors pursuing a culinary or hospitality-related degree.
