The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops will donate $2,000 to FeedMore WNY through “Food2 Families,” an annual food drive sponsored, in part, by Tops Markets. This donation is possible thanks to the Taste of Buffalo's participating restaurants, and the purchases of festivalgoers at the event last July.

“As a nonprofit organization with a passion for food, we're grateful for this opportunity to help fight hunger in our community and contribute toward providing meals for those who need a helping hand," said 2019 Taste of Buffalo Chairman Matt Testa.

To date, the Taste of Buffalo has donated more than $538,000 back to the community. In addition to charitable donations made by the outgoing chair each year after all expenses are paid, the event partners with select nonprofits to staff ticket and beverage tents with volunteers in return for a donation. The festival also awards five annual $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing a culinary or hospitality-related degree.

FeedMore WNY is the consolidation of the Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels. Its mission is to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to Western New York neighbors in need. In any given month, the Food Bank program assists as many as 129,000 individuals through 300 agencies and programs throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties.
