Niagara County boasted a bevy of holiday tree-lighting ceremonies, artisan markets, dinners, singalongs and family events this past week.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere we go!

•On Thursday, Jamie Symmonds hosted her annual Holiday Market inside the Brickyard Brewing Company. Several local merchants participated, including Lewiston Love, Inspirations on Canvas, Sgt. Peppers, Just Desserts by Aimee, Fay Bailey and Vagabond Bowties. The event also served as a fundraiser benefitting Toys for Tots.

•That same night, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce welcomed more than 70 people to its annual holiday dinner. The event took place in the Casa Antica Lounge, situated adjacent to Casa Antica Ristorante.

•On Friday, the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department presented its annual Christmas tree lighting at Hennepin Park. Director Brendan McDermott served as master of ceremonies, alongside Mayor Anne Welch. Lewiston Dance Center students performed to a medley of holiday songs, while St. Peter’s R.C. School children sang songs under the direction of Mrs. Baumler. Additional music came courtesy of Another Thyme.

Once the tree was lit, Santa visited and took pictures with adoring children. Families also marveled at the multistory Bumble, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Clarice inflatables, which are courtesy of the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce.
