The Lewiston Opera Hall, 732 Center St., will be the location of a new children’s musical, “The Princess and the Pea,” with performances taking place at 7 p.m. today and Sunday.

Presented by Alex Gentile, show director and future Niagara University grad, and produced by the Niagara Falls Police Athletic League, the musical promises to be a fun, colorful event for the whole family to enjoy.

This production takes place during Thanksgiving and is a show with in a show when Cousin Nick, a character in the musical, finds an old script in the hopes of entertainment and nostalgia. “With the help from his friends, he finds the perfect girl … or does he?” a description reads.

This 45-minute show is a charming tribute to the little things that make our lives what they are, and is perfect for the Thanksgiving season.

Gentile said he hopes to continue presenting affordable theater in the future for families.

“We are grateful to the people at Niagara Falls Police Athletic League for offering their support for this project. This is one of my first endeavors and I am very excited. This is one of the first shows Niagara PAL has ever produced and is also the first musical in the Lewiston Opera Hall in quite some time,” Gentile said.

Tickets for the musical are priced at $3 per person. Visitors are advised the performance will be held upstairs. The Opera Hall is not handicap-accessible.
