Niagara Greenway projects to be discussed

The Niagara River Greenway Commission will meet Tuesday, Nov. 19, to determine the consistency of the next round of projects. The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. at the NOCO Pavilion in Sheridan Park at 450 Ensminger Road, Tonawanda.

Six proposals will be under review:

  • Joseph Sutherland Preserve – Town of Niagara Farmland Conservancy
  • Black Rock Harbor Center phase one – Black Rock Riverside Alliance
  • DL&W Trail and Greenway phase three – WNY Land Conservancy
  • Olcott Beach gateway sign – Town of Newfane
  • Kiwanis Park basketball court – Town of Lewiston
  • Krull Park playground – Niagara County Parks

The Niagara River Greenway Commission is a public benefit corporation established by Chapter 460 of the state laws of 2004, and charged with the planning and development of a greenway of interconnected parks, river access points and waterfront trails along the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario at the site of the historic Fort Niagara.
