In addition to River’s Edge, residents have been wondering what’s going on with other notable developments around the Village of Lewiston. Here is an update:

Completed

•A Niagara River Greenway Commission bike path was installed along the Niagara Scenic Parkway. It leads into the village at the corner of Seneca Street and Portage Road, and then continues along Ninth Street to Mohawk Street, and finally over to Lower River Road.

Before

Proposed

•The property at the corner of Center and South Sixth streets – right above The Como Deli – will soon have renovated second-floor living quarters. A plan pitched to the Village of Lewiston also called for a clocktower. Owner Zach Casale is teaming with Fittante Architecture.

Before

Proposed

•The building west of the Frontier House – formerly a book depository and recently the Mad Hatter Tea House – is receiving a major upgrade. Property owner and Town of Lewiston Councilman Alfonso Marra Bax is working with Fittante Architecture on this project.

Coming Soon?

•The three-building Ellicott Development plaza project at Center, North Eighth and Onondaga streets is taking shape.

Company CEO Bill Paladino said buildings would be open as they are completed and then occupied with tenants.

“Tim Hortons hopefully within 3 months and the remaining buildings in early spring,” he wrote in an email.

Paladino remains mum on additional tenants, only confirming Quest Diagnostics will relocate to the plaza.

Spring Return

•Water Street Landing is closed for the winter, to allow for renovations inside the restaurant. A spring 2020 reopening is expected.

The artistic renderings were created by Fittante Architecture and presented to the Village of Lewiston.
