Last week, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In Buffalo, she visited Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and met with Annette, an 11-year breast cancer survivor, and highlighted the importance of early detection.

The lieutenant governor also visited the third annual “Pink Breakfast” at the Bensonhurst Center in Brooklyn to raise funds for breast cancer research, and delivered a proclamation from Gov. Andrew Cuomo to mark the occasion.

Finally, Hochul joined New York State Sen. Brian Benjamin to tour Mt. Sinai’s mobile mammography van in New York City, which helps to ensure access to preventative screenings.

The lieutenant governor will continue to promote awareness as she travels around the state throughout the month of October.
