The Herschell Carrousel Factory is hosting its annual “Halloween Spooktacular” event from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda. “Spooktacular” is a scare-free Halloween event that is suited for even the youngest members of the family.

The cost for attendees is $6 per person. Admission includes unlimited carousel rides; cider and snacks; games; and crafts for the whole family. There will be a basket raffle to benefit the museum. The outdoor rides in the Kiddieland Testing Park will be open (weather-permitting). Rides are 50 cents each.

Members of Buffalo's Star Wars Fanforce: The North Ridge will on site throughout the event. Visitors can meet and take pictures with their favorite characters from the “Star Wars” universe, and ride the carousel with them.

Pumpkins will be carved by volunteer woodcarvers during the event. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch the carvers transform each pumpkin. There will be a raffle during the event where visitors can try to win their favorite carved pumpkin.

New this year is a “STEAM Scream House” for all ages and exploring the fun science, technology, engineering, art, and math that go into some "haunted" spaces during the Halloween season.
