Pizza celebration set for Dec. 7

Calling all Niagara County pizzerias: Registration is now open for the second annual Festival of Slice pizza celebration, taking place from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. It is taking place as part of the city’s third annual Jingle Falls USA festivities, a collaborative holiday celebration in downtown Niagara Falls.

After attracting 16 pizzerias and more than 1,200 guests in its inaugural year, the Festival of Slice is planning this year’s festivities to be “Bigger, Better and Cheesier,” as the new larger venue will allow for more room for pizzeria vendors and guests. Pizzerias will compete for the coveted “Golden Pizza Wheels” in three categories: Best Cheese Slice, Best Specialty Slice and the People’s Choice Award.

Interested Niagara County pizzerias should visit www.FestivalOfSlice.com for a list of frequently asked questions and a link to register their business online. Registration forms can also be obtained by calling Destination Niagara USA at 716-282-8992.

Note: Participating pizzerias will be asked to provide a Niagara County temporary food service license in order to participate, as well as a $100 registration fee, which will be refunded when the pizzeria attends the event on Dec. 7. The registration deadline is Oct. 15.

The Festival of Slice is made possible by the City of Niagara Falls, Destination Niagara USA, The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, and Old Falls Street USA. For more information, visit www.FestivalofSlice.com.
