A press release stated, “FeedMore WNY’s Meals on Wheels program provides an integral service to the WNY community by allowing our homebound neighbors to maintain their independence and ensure they are receiving the proper nutrition to maintain their health. FeedMore WNY not only provides a hot lunch and cold supper, Monday through Friday, but volunteers provide companionship and a well-being check which allows many to remain more independent and live out their golden years at home in a familiar environment.”

“FeedMore WNY provides more than just a meal. The services provided by our programs allow our hungry WNY neighbors the nutrition, fellowship and dignity they need to live happy and fulfilling lives,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY.

“Plate Expectations” takes place during Hunger Action Month, a time when hunger-relief organizations and anti-hunger advocates across the nation mobilize the public to get involved in eradicating hunger. FeedMore WNY urges community members to give back during Hunger Action Month by supporting its events such as “Plate Expectations,” donating food or funds, or through volunteering.

“We encourage you to join us for the 16th annual ‘Plate Expectations’ on Sept. 12. Not only is it a fun evening, but it is a wonderful way to support the critical work that FeedMore WNY provides for our community,” Ellis said. “It does not have to take a lot of time or effort to help end hunger. Every dollar raised, food item donated and hand extended in help makes a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.”
