Seneca Gaming Corp. officials invited the media to tour the hotel side of Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on Thursday. They officially unveiled a $40 million renovation of the Seneca Niagara Event Center, hotel front entrance and mezzanine, and The Lobby Bar. Outside, the grounds have new landscaping and statues, additional lanes of traffic, new parking lots, and a brand-new staging area for outdoor concerts.

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino General Manager Pat Bassney said the goal was to “create a beautiful resort entryway, and take this up a few levels.”

Thus far, patrons are giving the new look “rave reviews,” he noted.

Hotel guests will find 60-foot-long 4K TV screens showcasing the Seneca Nation and local places of interest as they check into the resort.

“Certainly, our guests were telling us, ‘Hey, we love you, but you’re just not Las Vegas out here.’ Or what can we do for improvements – and we knew that, as well. And so, a few things happened and all the stars aligned,” Bassney said.

He explained The Seneca Nation was able to acquire adjoining land, and “that allowed us to do some things. And then we worked with our developers and our owners, the Seneca Nation, to bring this project to fruition.

“We fly customers in from around the country, and they want to see a beautiful, grand property; and now that’s what they’re getting. It allows more repeat guests.

“I hear it every day from our customers walking in: ‘Pat, this is something – we love it Thank you.’’
