The Region II office of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, will host a flood risk open house meeting to inform the residents of Niagara County about the flood risks shown on preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

The open house will take place from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the LaSalle Branch Public Library, 8728 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. It will give residents the opportunity to meet one-on-one with experts to learn more about their flood risk, obtain information on potential changes to flood insurance rates or requirements, and receive tips on how to mitigate and prepare for future floods.

Residents may come at any time during the scheduled hours. Officials are also encouraged to attend to provide a local perspective on the information their residents will receive.
