The Niagara Aquarium Foundation has elected Julie Kianof Fink as president of the board of trustees. Fink previously served the foundation as its vice president and assumes the role as the first woman to hold the position as president.

The Niagara Aquarium Foundation board of trustees is responsible for fiduciary oversight of the Aquarium of Niagara, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to education and conservation of aquatic life.

Fink has more than 38 years of experience in tourism, advertising and marketing. She founded WELCOME Magazine, a hardcover guide to the Buffalo Niagara region placed in over 10,000 hotel rooms since 1984. Under her direction, WELCOME grew into one of the region’s top sources for visitors as well as local residents to discover what to see and do in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Fink recently sold the business, providing an opportunity to assume a larger role with the board of trustees.

“It is incredibly rewarding to have a board president that is fully dedicated and committed to the mission of the aquarium,” said Gary Siddall, the Aquarium of Niagara’s executive director, “Julie shines with passion, and has a natural talent for fundraising that will undoubtedly ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization.”

Fink is a past board member of the Jewish Federation of Buffalo and the CEL/UB School of Management Alumni. She was a 2017 Business First Women of Influence winner. She resides in Amherst with her husband, Raymond L. Fink.

The Aquarium of Niagara is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to education and conservation. It is committed to rescued marine mammals and all aquatic life. For more information, visit aquariumofniagara.org.
