McGuire Group only multi-facility provider in NY to earn top quintile rankings 6 consecutive years

For the past six years, the New York State Department of Health has issued a Nursing Home Quality Initiative that evaluates 600 nursing homes in the state based on quality performance. The report ranks facilities by quintile, using a number of measurable quality indicators such as pressure ulcers, falls, catheter use, changes in activities of daily living, flu vaccine rates, resident weight loss and rehospitalization rates.

The McGuire Group’s five Western New York facilities are among a short list of facilities statewide that have achieved the top quintile status for six consecutive years, with the McGuire Group being the only multi-facility provider in the state to have achieved this milestone.

Information for the state rankings is calculated and managed by the New York State Department of Health. A consistently high quintile rating is impressive because it highlights a company’s long-term commitment to creating healthier communities and meeting a full spectrum of health care needs.

The McGuire Group’s five local facilities feature more than 950 beds and include: Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster, Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca. The McGuire Group’s Brookhaven Health Care Facility on Long Island has also ranked in the top quintile for six consecutive years.

“Our consistency in achieving the first quintile status is a reflection of the clinical expertise, training and employee commitment that exists at every level within our facilities,” said Susan Grigg, RN, BSN, CRRN, LNC, LNHA, vice president. “Our team is comprised of McGuire Mission Makers who are compassionate, dependable, courteous and informative. These premier traits are the keys that guide us to create a cohesive culture for those who live and work in our facilities.”

The McGuire Group’s services include subacute and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, palliative and hospice care, memory care and respite/short-term care.
