Market in the Country & return of Oppenheim Zoo fun for all

Thu, Jun 13th 2019 07:30 am

On June 8, the return of the Oppenheim Zoo and Market in the Country at the Wheatfield Lions Club was a success, drawing many people of all ages to the Five Senses Nature Park.

There were a variety of activities, from the Zoomobile, to the aquarium, a basket auction, petting zoo and pony rides, and several societies, crafters, and vendors.

On display was an actual model of the Oppenheim Zoo with period literature from the town historian’s office.

Thanks was extended to the Niagara County Central Rotary, the American Legion Post 1451, and the former employees of the grand old zoo for both their partnership and their help in making the event a winner.

Pictured are scenes from the day’s events. (Submissions by Wheatfield Lions President Walt Garrow and Lion Justin Higner)
