Wednesday, North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas joined North Tonawanda Director of Parks and Recreation Alex Domaradzki, City Engineer Dale Marshall, as well as additional city officials, for a ribbon cutting ceremony in dedication of the new boat launch kiosk at Gratwick Riverside Park.

The kiosk was donated by Confer Plastics. It enables boaters to purchase a one day parking permit for their boat trailer at the cost of $5, an alternate option to buying a season pass. The boaters are instructed to place the receipt ticket on the driver side dash of their vehicles as proof of permit. The ticket will have the expiration date on the receipt, which will be viewable. Though the kiosk is located at Gratwick Park, any boater is capable of purchasing a temporary permit and launching at any of the three sites (Botanical Garden, Service Drive and Gratwick Riverside Park).

“The city would like to thank Bob Confer for this generous donation,” said Pappas. “It’s great to have a company who is not only committed to their workers, but to their community as well. Confer Plastics has been in North Tonawanda for a long time and has always been an integral part of the city. Having this kiosk will be a convenience for boaters who only plan on docking their boats a few times a summer. It will bring more people to enjoy our exceptional stretch of the Niagara River.”
