Thu, May 23rd 2019 11:30 am

The Oppenheim Zoo is returning to Wheatfield … for one day.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, the Wheatfield Lions Club and Niagara County Central Rotary will sponsor a “Return of Oppenheim Zoo, Market in the Country,” which is open to the public and free of charge.

The Buffalo Zoomobile will be present from 10-11:30 a.m.; the Niagara Falls Aquarium from noon to 2 p.m.; pony rides and petting zoo/farm animals from noon to 4 p.m.; and Skyhunters Birds of Prey (with flying demonstrations) and greyhound adoptions all day. Representatives of the former Oppenheim Zoo will also present photographs and artifacts, along with the Sanborn Historical Society.

Craft vendors will be on site and there will be a car show. A basket auction will also be held, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
