Kickoff your Memorial Day weekend on Friday night at Ransomville Speedway as Dunkin Donuts and 87Buf present a $2,000-to-win, 40-lap Modified special and a $1,000-to-win demolition derby.

Following four-straight Friday night rainouts, the “Big R” is hoping to come to life this week to finally get the 2019 season underway. The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, Gippster's Collision Mini Stocks and Stevenson's Hardware Novice Sportsman are all slated to be in action for five divisions of exciting side-by-side racing.

The Modifieds have a bigger challenge with the extra-distance 40-lap feature to launch their season. Top stars Erick Rudolph, Pete Bicknell, Ryan Susice, Mat Williamson, Chad Brachmann and more will do battle for the $2,000 top prize. This is the first of four Modified races at Ransomville this season with $2,000 on the line for the winner.

On top of the race card, there will be a four-cylinder demolition derby sponsored by Triple T Auto Parts to close out the show. The ultimate survivor of the smash-and-crash fest will win $1,000, with $300 for second and $100 for third place. Drivers can still register for the demolition derby. The entry fee is $50 for car and driver.

Ransomville Speedway is also excited to welcome Buster Bison to the track this Friday night. The Buffalo Bisons mascot will greet fans as they enter the speedway front gates. Last season, Ransomville Speedway made two appearances at Bisons home games, with Miss Ransomville Mariah Reilly getting the chance to throw out the first pitch.

The Can-Am Thunder Stock Challenge race, rained out the past three weeks, will be rescheduled for a later date. The Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks will have a regular points race. The series will now begin this Sunday at Humbertsone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario.

Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and students (age 13-17) and $8 for children age 9-12. Pit admission is $27 for member or $32 for non-member.

Suites are available to rent for the May 24 program. Race night sponsors receive VIP tickets, a pre-race picnic in the pavilion and seats in one of the air-conditioned suites with snacks and beverages. Contact Jenn Martin in the Speedway office at 716-791-3602 for more information.
