Applebee’s to offer 15% discount to vets & active duty for month of May

A longtime supporter of the U.S. military, T.L. Cannon Companies and its 61 Applebee’s restaurants across upstate New York, Connecticut and Northern Pennsylvania are furthering their efforts during the month of May, as part of the annual Military Appreciation Month celebration.

Providing military support throughout the year, T.L. Cannon Co. takes special pride in Military Appreciation month. This year, the 61 Applebee’s locations are celebrating by inviting past and present military members to join them for 15% off, for the entire month of May. In addition, there will a poster hung at each location, for guests and team members to sign – writing thank-you notes to their local heroes.

“Honoring America’s servicemen and women – past and present, has always been important to our brand,” said Stephanie Griffin, director of marketing and public relations, T.L. Cannon Co. “The sacrifices they make each and every day will always far outweigh the ‘thanks’ we can give, but that does not stop us from trying. Every Veteran’s Day, we provide thousands of complimentary meals, and the month of May gives us the opportunity to celebrate all month long.”

In addition to the 15% discount and thank-you posters, T.L. Cannon’s 61 restaurants will offer a $5 bonus card to troops who dine with them on Armed Forces Day (Saturday, May 18), to be used on their next visit.

“We have always been your ‘Neighborhood Grill + Bar,’ ” employee Stephanie said. “We work to make connections with each and every guest and lend a hand in our neighborhoods. Our local military members are a huge part of our communities, of our county. Celebrating the brave men and women is the right thing to do.”

In 2018 alone, T.L. Cannon donated over $293,051 to military members in meals, discounts and giveaways. The company hopes to make 2019 the biggest year yet.

Participating WNY Applebee’s locations include: Amherst, Batavia, Buffalo, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Dunkirk, Jamestown, Lockport, Niagara Falls, Olean, West Seneca and Williamsville. Applebee’s restaurants across upstate New York, Connecticut and Sayre, Pennsylvania, also will take part.

The offer is a 15% discount for retired and active duty military. Tax, gratuity, gift card and alcohol purchase excluded. Participants must show proof of service to redeem the offer, including these forms:

  • U.S. Uniform Services ID card (green)
  • U.S. Uniform Services retired ID card (blue)
