Project Pride to host spring cleanup events

Thu, Apr 11th 2019 12:45 pm

After a long cold winter, Project Pride of North Tonawanda is looking to spring forward with a series of cleanup and planting events. The group has been busy this winter discussing planting and fundraising ideas for the upcoming season. In order to prepare for the June planting, there is a need for cleanup. As the snow has slowly melted, litter and debris have appeared along the key business corridors.

In order to continue Project Pride’s mission to beautify the community, they will host two cleanup events for Earth Day.

•Webster Street: 9 a.m. Saturday, April 27. (Meet in front of Gleam & Glimmer Stained Glass Studio, 34 Webster St.)

•Oliver Street: 10 a.m. Sunday, April 28. (Meet in front of Sherwood Florist, 458 Oliver St.)

Supplies will be provided, but attendees should bring a pair of gloves and a broom.

Those interested in volunteering or sponsoring any activities of Project Pride should email Barbara Hughes at [email protected]. Project Pride asks the public to spread the word to neighbors and friends, as Project Pride cannot accomplish its goals without the help of volunteers.

Project Pride of North Tonawanda is a nonprofit citizen group whose mission it is to promote a sense of identity and pride among the residents of North Tonawanda, while attracting visitors to our community. Volunteers are a critical component to success and attendees are encouraged to join the group in making NT beautiful.
