Zachary Niemiec recently received the endorsement of Run for Something, the groundbreaking organization that recruits and supports strong voices in the next generation of progressive leadership.

“I’m proud to have the support of organizations such as Run For Something as they encourage accepting a diversity of ideas and backgrounds. It is my hope by striving for unity in the community, we can get past partisan fighting and back to policy,” he said.

Niemiec was also recently endorsed by the North Tonawanda and Niagara County Democratic parties as well as the Working Families Party of WNY.

“RFS endorses candidates on two major criteria: heart and hustle,” said Ross Morales Rocketto, Run For Something co-founder. “These are candidates who are going to work hard to run grassroots, community-led campaigns. We are in a critical time in history and the momentum these candidates generate will have a lasting impact for years to come.”

Niemiec said he believes we can all stand to learn from change, and that the residents of North Tonawanda want to see growth and reasonable change, not just tax increases and cuts, with nothing to show for.

Niemiec’s campaign is based on the idea of striving for unity in the community. He believes in providing more services helping those just starting out and those enjoying retirement. This means working for a fair budget for our community, working to increase access to government and participation as well as seeking new development and growth.

Amanda Litman and Rocketto launched RFS on Jan. 20, 2017, with a premise: help young diverse progressives to run for down-ballot races. So far, about 18,000 young people from across the country have signed up as candidates.
