Thu, Feb 21st 2019 02:45 pm

The Town of Niagara Active Hose Fire Co. is requesting assistance from its neighbors.

The company answers the calls of residents and sometimes recognize some have outdated smoke or carbon monoxide detectors. Some have none at all and are unable to maintain and purchase the life-saving piece of equipment.

Residents of the town are asked to assist in the company’s Drive for Alive initiative, by donating new and up-to-date smoke and/or carbon monoxide detectors at the firehall, 6010 Lockport Road. From there, the firefighters will carry the detectors on their trucks, and when the group is called on by residents who do not presently have them, they will install them free of charge.

Detectors will additionally be accepted in person or by mail at the firehall, or in the drop box outside the town clerk’s office at Town of Niagara Town Hall.
