Jack the Ripper play on stage at Ghostlight Theatre

The world premiere play "The Lodger," based on the Jack the Ripper murders by Marie Belloc Lowndes, will be presented at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., at 7 p.m. Feb. 14.

Performances continue at 8 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16; 2 p.m. Feb. 17; 7 p.m. Feb. 21; 8 p.m. Feb. 22 and 23; and 2 p.m. Feb. 24. Tickets are $15 general admission, $13 for veterans, students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.starrynighttheatre.com. 

"The Lodger," adapted and directed by L. Don Swartz, features Daniel Baker, Amanda Woomer-Limpert, Jesse Swartz, Carolyn Woomer and Chris Fire.

"The Lodger" tells the story of a family living in London in 1888 who begins to suspect that they have rented rooms in their house to a serial killer.

Since the world premiere adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" in 1985, the Ghostlight Theatre has specialized in presenting world premiere adaptations of classic literature including "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," "Tom Sawyer," "Dracula," "Little Women," "Frankenstein," "Treasure Island," "The Hound of the Baskervilles," and several short stories by Edgar Alan Poe.
