Hazel Florence Mallwitz (née DeGlopper) passed away on July 4, 2018, in Pahrump, Nevada, at the age of 98.
Hazel, who just turned 98 on June 26, was formerly of Grand Island. She drove a school bus for the Grand Island School District for 20 years.
Hazel was mother to Dan (Debbie) Mallwitz of Pahrump, and the late Clare Mallwitz. She was the grandmother to Ted Mallwitz of the Town of Tonawanda and great-grandmother to Jonathan. She was the wife of the late Clarence DeForest Mallwitz and the sister of the late Walter, Earl, Marion (Fitsimmons) Coats, and Bernice Bailey.
A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2019, at the Pfc. Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9249. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Charles DeGlopper Memorial Park.
