The Niagara Falls Community Development Department is connecting local renovation contractors to yearlong local work.

Interested contractors are invited to the annual Niagara Falls Community Development Contractor Breakfast on Feb. 26. There, they will receive more information and make connections. Breakfast is complimentary. The event runs from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Carnegie Building, 1022 Main St.

"A Community Development-funded renovation adds value to our neighborhoods and can also provide reliable work to local contractors," said Seth Piccirillo, director of Niagara Falls Community Development. "We hope that Niagara Falls contractors will stop by and learn more."

NFCD administers a federal loan/grant program for local homeowners that requires a full range of home renovation services. In addition, the city's new short-term rental property ordinance provides a new opportunity for local contractors, as well, especially for electricians.

“Both our home renovation program and short-term rental owners are in serious need of more contractors to work with. We hope that this breakfast will help create new and local work opportunities,” Piccirillo said.
