Construction is nearly complete at 765 Fairchild Place, and a May move-in date was announced on Wednesday night. The 29-unit living complex was constructed at the site of the former Fairchild Manor nursing home.

A press release said Fairchild Place will offer “state-of-the-art one- and two-bedroom apartment units, ranging from 1,000-1,500 square-feet, as well as two-bedroom townhouse units at 1,200 square-feet. (Garage space is also available.) … A total of 23 apartment units, and six luxury townhomes are available for lease now.”

Throughout 2018, building crews were seen working on the exterior of the larger, three-story residential building fronting Onondaga Street, as well as the townhouse row of homes on Fairchild Place road. Interior work is now in progress, and project officials are anticipating a spring opening.

Developer James Jerge presented the concept to the Village of Lewiston, and diligently worked with neighbors to accommodate requests pertaining to size, location and aesthetics. He then partnered with McGuire Development Company to bring the design to life.

In a phone interview on Thursday, McGuire Development Company Marketing Director Megan Tafelski said, “Jimmy had the plot of land … and he presented it to us as a development option.”

“We’re a full-service real estate company, so we have the resources to actually do the buildout and manage all of the subcontractors for the project,” she explained.

Tafelski said, “It’s actually – interestingly enough – our first residential project. This is kind of our baby, in a sense. It’s the first time that we’ve been up in the Lewiston market, which we’re very excited about, but also very happy to start getting into the residential piece.”

Of Lewiston, she said, “The restaurants are great. The view of the water is fantastic. And it’s a very welcoming town. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know some of the neighbors and being involved in the area.”

Village of Lewiston Mayor Anne Welch said, “I am very excited about the Fairchild project. It’s turned out to be really beautiful. And it’s a nice addition to the village. It will be a real asset.”

Tafelski said the site is “fantastic,” because, just one block from Center Street, “it’s the only walkable apartment location in the area – which just brings such an unmatched, incredible amenity to the piece.”

Speaking of amenities, the press release further stated, “Residents of Fairchild Place will enjoy an art-centered modern aesthetic, designer finishes, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and modern entertainment capabilities. Each apartment features open plan living with five-star quality and conveniences. A portion of the units are pet-friendly, and additional storage space is available.”

Howard Hanna is the exclusive leasing agency for 765 Fairchild Place. Information on floor plans and pricing is available at www.fairchildplacelewiston.com, or interested parties can contact agents Richard Portale at 716-553-3107 or Kathleen Holler at 716-909-6682.

Tafelski said units are high-end, but “There’s no target-defined market for the property, because it really could be a mix.”
