The local Geico office in Tonawanda recently partnered with the local Disabled American Veterans chapter at the Brounschidle Post in Kenmore for a fundraiser for disabled veterans.

Together, the two were able to collect $1,235 from donations received. The Geico office matched the amount that was collected, totaling $2,470 for 44 families in need.

A sum of 44 turkeys and 44 hams were purchased from these proceeds so these families, all with disabled vets at home, had a dinner on both Christmas and New Years days.

The remainder of the funds has been turned over to DAV No. 120 chapter at the Brounschidle Post for future holidays.
