The Town of Niagara Town Board held its first regular meeting of 2019 Tuesday night. The meeting was rather quick and light in content, but several town matters were accounted for.

The following is a list of notable agenda items that were approved:

•The Niagara Active Hose Service Awards investment.

•The town’s employee training program and policy.

•The board also changed all future payments for Steinmetz Planning Group to Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C, effective Jan. 15.

The board scheduled a public hearing regarding to increase the administrative charge against unpaid water/sewer accounts to $100 pursuant to town code. The hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.

“Music Mania Mondays” was briefly discussed Tuesday night. The board resolved to pre-pay deposits for bands contracted to perform at the concert series in 2019. The remainder of the performance fee would be paid the night of the concert. Additionally, the board resolved to pre-pay concert sound in the amount not to exceed $1,850 nightly.

A schedule of bands will likely be released as summer approaches closer.

The Town Board issued a negative declaration under the state environmental quality review for sale of a piece of property adjacent to 9695 Porter Road, which is near the Weber property. The land was then sold for the sum of $7,000, with the purchasers agreeing to pay for all closing costs and the town’s attorneys’ fees in the amount of $1,500.

The town renewed the senior citizens consultant contract for the year with Joe Proietti. Proietti will continue to work with Town of Niagara seniors.

Town Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The next Town of Niagara Town Board meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
