Davis named Elderwood's director of managed care contracting

Elderwood has named Kristen Davis, of Cambria, director of managed care contracting. She will be responsible for negotiating new and existing provider contracts, nurturing relationships between Elderwood and health care plans, and supervising Elderwood’s insurance and third-party payerverification/authorization staff.

Elderwood will benefit from Davis’ strong background in health plan and provider contracting.

“Kristen has served previously at some of the area’s largest health care insurance companies,” said Bob Heyert, chief financial officer. “We’re confident she has the experience and knowledge of industry reimbursement practices to nurture the important provider relationships we have already developed and to seek out new opportunities, so Elderwood can continue to offer our patients the best care solutions.”

Davis previously served as the vice president of managed care at Erie County Medical Center, where she oversaw managed care functions including contract negotiations and rate setting.

She received her bachelor of science degree in economics and management from Canisius College and completed coursework at D’Youville College toward her masters of science in health services administration. She serves on the board of directors and as the communications committee chair for the Healthcare Financial Management Association of WNY.
