Mount St. Mary’s Hospital’s nuclear medicine program has been granted an additional three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in nuclear cardiology. This reaccreditation demonstrates the facility’s ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care in nuclear cardiology.

Accreditation by IAC indicates the nuclear medicine program at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital has undergone an intensive application and review process and is found to be in compliance with the published standards.

Early detection of life-threatening heart disorders, stroke and other diseases is possible through the use of nuclear cardiology procedures. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the U.S., with on average one American dying every 39 seconds of disorders of heart and blood vessels.
