Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and its Neighborhood Health Center conducted its fifth annual “Christmas Shoppe” on Saturday, and provided assistance to more than 110 families and 285 children. The initiative is coordinated by Sister Nora Sweeney, D.C., community social worker at the Neighborhood Health Center.

Generous individuals from throughout the community supported the event. A team of more than 60 volunteers assisted participating families as they shopped for inside the Conference Center Niagara Falls.

Clothing items were collected by associates of Mount St. Mary’s and Catholic Health and parishioners from area parishes, including St. Mary of the Cataract, Divine Mercy, St. Raphael’s, St. Bernard’s, and St. Peter’s R.C. Church and School in Lewiston. Students from Niagara University also assisted, as did local businesses and private donors.

In addition to clothing items, those in need were also provided with personal care items.
