Learn about different types of Christmas ornaments and trimmings, and make a unique decoration with your family to add to a holiday collection. Local event planner and owner of Small Indulgences, Lesley Mucha, will serve as guide at the History Center’s December Family Night.

The event will take place at the Niagara History Center, 215 Niagara St. Lockport, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. Admission is free. An optional pizza supper is served at 5:30 p.m. for a nominal donation, followed by the program. Family Nights are open to all, regardless of residency.

The free-admission monthly programs and activities are specifically designed for families with children ages 5 and up, but adults are welcome, too. Each night has a theme based upon history that happened in Niagara County, expressed through activities all ages can share and enjoy.

Family Nights will continue into next year. Presenters include History Center staff, re-enactors from the museum’s Step Back in Time Players, museum volunteers and facilitators from other community organizations.

Reservations are required. Call the History Center at 716-434-7433.
