The Lewiston Christmas Walk and Tour of Homes are the highlight of a busy, festive few days in Niagara County and the River Region.
The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce presents Christmas Walk and, in partnership with the Historical Association of Lewiston, the Tour of Homes on Dec. 1-2. Highlights include boutique shopping, a North Pole mailbox, carriage rides, a petting zoo and a home tour (ticketed event).
Santa will arrive by Santacopter, made possible by Rainbow Air, Deal Realty and J&J Strassburg Trucking.

As part of the 14th annual Tour of Homes, five unique sites are featured, each presenting Christmas tablescapes and offering innovative holiday entertaining ideas by local decorators.
Guests will be invited to Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa (100 Center St.) for a dessert reception with pastries and a poinsettia cocktail, as well as a holiday market.

The Lewiston Community Lions will hold a "Christmas in Lewiston" arts and crafts show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days this weekend at the Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa, 100 Center St. The event also features music, food and a 50/50 split draw.
SENECA NIAGARA RESORT & CASINO
•Holiday festivities began early, with a tree-lighting Thursday at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls. Gaming officials were joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus, Buster Bison, Sabretooth, adoptable dogs from the SPCA of Niagara and "The Midtown Men" (original Broadway cast of "The Jersey Boys").

HOLIDAY MARKET
Trees also were on display at the Brickyard Brewing Company and The Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. in Lewiston, where Jamie Symmonds and Willow Consulting staged the second annual holiday market. Vendors could be found in both restaurants, offering a large assortment of unique holiday gifts and seasonal items.

CHAMBER DINNER
Over at Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual member dinner. The eatery was packed with patrons, many of whom won one or more gift certificates to local businesses. In addition, KeyBank's Robert Fagiani won the 50/50 split, and donated his half back to Ransomville's Care-n-Share.

JINGLE FALLS
The annual Jingle Falls began Friday night on Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls. The event included a lighting of the tree by the Rotella family, Santa, Mayor Paul Dyster and local tourism leaders. A grand fireworks display followed.
Across the street, the first Festival of Slice debuted at the Culinary Institute.

LEWISTON TREE-LIGHTING
•The annual Village of Lewiston tree-lighting took place Friday night inside Hennepin Park. Mayor Anne Welch and Recreation Director Brendan McDermott welcomed a large gathering to the gazebo, where Lewiston Dance performers and St. Peter R.C. School students (under the direction of Mrs. Baumler) entertained. Santa joined them on "stage," right before the tree was lit.
