Christopher Richel, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away comfortably under Hospice care in Arizona surrounded by his loving family on April 30, 2018.
Chris was born Dec. 24, 1968, in Lewiston to Frank and Carolyn Richel. He was a 1986 graduate of Grand Island High School. Chris struggled for many years with heart disease, but handled it all with positivity and grace. His strength of character was a blessing and inspiration to many others.
He is survived by his parents of Mesa, Arizona; his brother, Marc, and his wife, Melissa, of Lancaster; his sister, Jennifer, and her husband, Chris, of Mesa; his much-loved nieces, Victoria Richel and Emily Sekenski; along with his nephews, Sebastian Richel and Joshua Sekenski; as well as many other cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A casual memorial service will be held at the Grand Island Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 2121 Grand Island Blvd., on Saturday, June 2, from 2-6 p.m. All are welcome to attend and encouraged to share a memory of him.
