North Tonawanda High School senior Paul Orrange was selected to sing with the All State Mixed Chorus and perform at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester. He earned this honor by scoring a perfect 100 on his state adjudication last spring. Orrange was one of 900 students who participated in eight ensembles this past weekend at the All State Conference sponsored by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA).
The four-day festival culminated in outstanding performances by the All State ensembles. Orrange was able to sing with singers from Long Island to Buffalo under the baton of Dr. Janet Galvan from Ithaca College. Orrange enjoyed the experience and said, "I learned so much from Dr. Galvan, but the best part was that the kids came from all over the state and worked together in harmony." Music can build bridges and unite populations and Orrange experienced that first hand.
Orrange is the son of Paul and Susan Orrange. He plans on attending college for engineering with a minor in music.
