Veterans Day in Lewiston

Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Downriver Post No. 7487 will be distributing poppy flowers at DiMino Lewiston Tops on Friday and Saturday of this week. Donations received will go toward building a new memorial at Academy Park, as well as Lewiston-Porter and Patriot's Pen scholarship initiatives.
A Veterans Day remembrance event will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Academy Park eternal flame.
Also that day, Tops will offer veterans and active duty military members an 11 percent discount. Proof of service is required.
