Holiday gift show features 45-plus vendors in Historic Kenan House
The Kenan Arts Council is gearing up to be an exciting part of the holiday season. For the 38th year, the Kenan Arts Council will host the popular holiday gift show at the Kenan Center, 433 Locust St, Lockport. Dates are 5-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Admission is $4.
This year's event will feature 45 juried artisans as well as four food and wine vendors: Black Willow Winery, All That Chocolate, and - again this year - Winslow's Choice Jams & Jellies and Geri Hens of Lockport selling organic honey.
Nine new artisans join the show this year, including Grant Swados, selling whimsical fleece hats and quilts; Catherine Sauer, featuring her cozy knitted wear; Junko McGee, with a line of pottery; and Amanda Hargreaves, offering her exclusive items in wood. Also joining this year will be Angelline Gomez, selling her hand puppets and hats; Lisa Ballowe, with a line of jewelry; and Dawn Estes, featuring her original line of aluminum and copper wire objects. Joel Falkowski will have unique wood-carved faces and cottages, while Catherine Southwick will sell her line of baskets.
In addition, visitors can enjoy a quilt raffle hosted by the Kenan Quilters' Guild, herbal gifts offered by the Friends of the Kenan Herb Club, and the Kenan Arts Council's goody booth filled with baked goods and treats. For those looking for more substantial fare, the Hilltop Restaurant will serve a variety of soups, sandwiches and desserts at the Onstage Café in the Taylor Theater.
Thanks to the members of the Kenan Arts Council, the Kenan Mansion campus is festively decorated for the holiday season. And to add to the fun, Santa and Mrs. Clause will hand out goodies and presents
Proceeds from the Holiday Gift Show benefit Kenan Center's arts, education and recreation programs. For more information, call 716-433-2617 or visit kenancenter.org.
