The Historic Palace Theatre will host its "Palace Cash Raffle" event as a grand reopening after being closed for renovation for the past three months. The evening will feature behind-the-scenes tours of the new renovations, cuisine from 80 Main Banquet & Catering, a basket raffle, a Mills Jewelers diamond raffle, and the chance to win $500, $1,000 or $2,500.
The event is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Tickets, at $125 a couple, are available online at lockportpalacetheatre.org, at the Palace box office, and at Mills Jewelers.
Last March, the Palace Theatre embarked on a $2.1 million grand restoration campaign. This cash raffle celebrates the completion of phase one of this campaign.
All of the interior theater plaster has been restored, cleaned and painted in order to prepare for detail painting that will take place during phase two. This work has been done by Swiatek Studios. In addition to the interior theater restoration, the outer lobby has also been fully renovated by Mulvey Construction. On Oct. 27, guests will have the opportunity to explore the theater and hear from the teams that did the work during this first phase.
The Historic Palace Theatre is located at 2 East Ave., in the heart of downtown Lockport. Built in 1925 by Charles Dickenson, the proscenium-arch-style space is known as an architectural marvel of the city. The theater is owned and operated by a nonprofit organization, Historic Palace Inc.
