Niagara River Greenway Commission announces next round of meetings

The Niagara River Greenway Commission will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 20, to determine the consistency of the 62nd round of projects. The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in the Western New York Welcome Center, Alvin Road, Grand Island. The general meeting will be preceded at 2 p.m. by the business meeting.
The projects to be considered include:
  • Invasive plant removal and native plant conservation at Niagara University
  • North Tonawanda western canal bike path connection
  • Ash tree removal and replacement
  • African American Veteran Monument
  • Lockport Rail Trail
  • North Tonawanda Botanical Gardens living shoreline
Public comment on these projects will be accepted through Nov. 12. The project proposals are available at www.niagararivergreenway.com under projects -> current projects. Comments may be submitted electronically through the website or emailed directly to [email protected]. Hard copy comment submissions may be sent to the commission at PO Box 1132, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
The Niagara River Greenway Commission is a public benefit corporation established by Chapter 460 of the laws of 2004, and charged with the planning and development of a greenway of interconnected parks, river access points and waterfront trails along the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario at the site of the historic Fort Niagara.
