The Cultural Alliance of Niagara was selected as one of nine area nonprofit organizations to will receive free creative services from the J. Fitzgerald Group (JFG) as part of the 24-hour CreateAthon, kicking off next Thursday at the agency's Lockport office.
The agency creative team will work on a logo design and tagline for a new initiative under the name ArtsNiagara.org; and a web portal for Niagara County arts and cultural organizations, which will include a calendar and directory of all participating organizations. The first-of-its-kind web portal to focus exclusively on the arts and cultural sector of Niagara County will utilize Artsopolis, a licensed platform used by dozens of nonprofit cultural organizations, arts councils, and media outlets across the country. The Cultural Alliance of Niagara hopes to launch the website in early 2019.
The Cultural Alliance of Niagara is a member-powered collaborative that positions Niagara County's arts and cultural sector as a vital regional asset and visitor destination, essential to the region's economic success and quality of life. Its current membership includes 15 organizations: Artpark & Company, Aquarium of Niagara, Carnegie Arts Center, Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University, Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, Historic Riviera Theatre, Kenan Center, Lewiston Council on the Arts, Niagara Arts & Cultural Center, Niagara County Historical Society/Erie Canal Discovery Center, Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, Underground Railroad Museum, Old Fort Niagara, and two supporting agencies: Arts Services Initiative of WNY and Niagara Falls USA.
Held annually, CreateAthon is part of a national effort to give back to local communities. This year marks the 11th year JFG has participated in the 24-hour marketing blitz, the only event of its kind in Western New York. Following an online application process, each CreateAthon applicant was evaluated for inclusion based on audience reach, the ability of services to make an impact on the nonprofit organization and the communities they serve, and the scope of each organization's financial need.
