Learn story behind some of Buffalo's historic military sites with Niagara History Center
Mark your calendars for the Niagara History Center's fall bus tour, set for 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. Participants will tour historical military sites throughout Buffalo and enjoy presentations by speakers.
This round-trip tour will begin in Lockport at the Niagara History Center, 215 Niagara St. Guests will start at the Buffalo Religious Art Center. Doug Kohler will present on Black Rock and the War of 1812. He'll discuss the significance of the Black Rock area and the battle that occurred there. Afterword, take a tour of the Art Center.
The next stop is to the Acqua Restaurant for a lunch buffet beside the scenic Buffalo waterfront. That will be followed by a speaker on the Fenian Rebellion.
End at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site. Mark Lozo will discuss the Patriots' War and the Buffalo Barracks that formerly existed at this site. This will be followed by a tour of the extant parts of the Barracks and some time to visit the gift shop.
Patrons will arrive back in Lockport at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Tickets for the motor coach trip are by reservation, only, at $73 for History Center members or $78 for non-members. The price includes the luxury coach, museum admission and lunch.

The History Center receives grant assistance from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
