Niagara Falls Community Development Department is hosting "Pasta in the Park" on Wednesday as part of the "Summer In Your City" series. "Pasta in the Park" will feature the Buffalo Zoomobile and a science, technology, engineering, arts and math workshop at 5 p.m., a free pasta dinner donated by Fortuna's Restaurant at 6:30 p.m., a bounce house, a balloon animal station at 7 p.m., and a free outdoor viewing of the "Peter Rabbit" movie at dusk. The Community Development team will also provide an opportunity for residents to cast 2018 participatory budget votes at the event.
"We welcome the entire neighborhood and city to stop by Liberty Park for an evening of family-friendly fun," said Seth Piccirillo, director of Community Development. "We are sincerely grateful to the New York Health Foundation and Fortuna's Restaurant for their support and sponsorship."
The "Summer In Your City" event series is funded by the New York State Health Foundation via a $120,000 grant received in March. NYSHealth is a private, statewide foundation dedicated to improving the health of all New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable. It is committed to making grants, informing health care policy and practice, spreading effective programs that work to improve the health system, serving as a convener of health leaders across the state, and providing technical assistance to its grantees and partners.
"Pasta in the Park" will take place at Liberty Park, corner of 19th Street and Forest Avenue.
In the coming weeks, Liberty Park's outdated playground will be replaced by a state-of-the-art, fitness-themed playground, appropriate for all ages. This improvement was funded by a 2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant, directly voted on by residents during last year's participatory budgeting round.
