The Town of Wheatfield Lions Club hosted guests with special needs at the Five Senses Park and community services and event center on Ward Road. Past District Governor Lion Jeff Jarvis and Past District Govener Sharon Battaglia did much of the exterior coordination. Town of Niagara Lion Angelo Onovelo played his saxophone. There was a music system, corn, chicken dinner, and braille bingo. T
here are many from the club who significantly contributed. Past President Lion Art Kroening did much, such as the pop, water, ice, out houses, cooling chests, etc. Lion Bob Cliffe helped get the hayride and driver. And Lions Mary Beth Long and Agnes Ryan helped escorting guests.
The Lions sent heartfelt thanks to their guests, partners, donors, volunteers, and the Lions.
Earlier, in another fun-filled event in June, Lion Walt Garrow succeeded Kroening as club president. The club extended thanks to Kroening for all of his efforts. Past District Governor Lion Robert Shivley did the honors of swearing in all officers in the club.
The Lions' next appearance will be at the Bergholz Fire Department 100th Anniversary Fireman's Parade, at 4 p.m., July 21. Also, during the summer recreation schedule, check out their concessions booth at Fairmount Park.
