East Hill Foundation completes project funding for 'Aliens of the Sea' with $100,000 grant
The Aquarium of Niagara announced Thursday that funding for "Aliens of the Sea" is complete thanks to the generosity of a $100,000 grant awarded by the East Hill Foundation.
"The East Hill Foundation is delighted to support the Aquarium of Niagara," said Ken Dulian, executive director. "The aquarium is a WNY cultural staple and we are excited to be a part of their growth and future successes."
Aquarium of Niagara Executive Director Gary Siddall said, "We are very grateful to the East Hill Foundation for their considerable generosity. The success and continuation of our next wave of improvements is dependent on the ongoing support from the community."
The new, $477,000 jellyfish exhibit is scheduled to open in early 2019, and will include five displays featuring four different species of jellyfish plus hands-on interactives. This is the first time jellyfish will be added to the aquarium's collection. The display will provide visitors a unique chance to discover more about these creatures.
"Aliens of the Sea" is presented by Key Bank in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, and supported by the WNY Regional Economic Development Council.
The Aquarium of Niagara is located at 701 Whirlpool St., Niagara Falls.
