'Summer In Your City': Events kick-off at Hyde Park

Niagara Falls Community Development's 2018 "Summer In Your City" begins Thursday with a free yoga session at Hyde Park's Duck Island (corner of Linwood Avenue and Robbins Drive). Thursday's event kicks off a four-month, family-friendly event series sponsored by the New York State Health Foundation, in partnership with the Niagara Falls City School District. 
Here's are this week's "Summer In Your City" events:
•Fitness In The Park - Yoga with Tree of Life Studio
Hyde Park's Duck Island; 6 p.m. Thursday, July 5
•The Rose Garden Lunch w/ musical guest Bruce Wojick
Hyde Park's Rose Garden (across street from 911 Robbins Drive); noon Friday, July 6
•Fitness In The Park - Workout with ChrisFit
Hyde Park's Duck Island; 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7
"Summer In Your City" is funded by the New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) via a $120,000 grant received in March. NYSHealth is a private, statewide foundation dedicated to improving the health of all New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable.
The event, running from July to October, will feature:
•30-plus free outdoor fitness sessions at city parks, led by professional trainers, yoga instructors and martial arts experts.
•Four free outdoor movie nights at neighborhood parks.
•Science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) workshops at Hyde Park and Liberty Park led by a certified educator and physical education curriculum designed specifically for Niagara Falls Parks.
•Special events, including Slow Roll Buffalo Bike Stampede, a birthday for Nikola Tesla in partnership with National Grid, an art show at the Castellani Art Museum featuring work created by local children and a 5K Color Run.
•Mobility training sessions at the soon to be completed Hyde Park Inclusionary Project, led by Empower.
