The Sabres open their season at home on Thursday, Oct. 4, against the Boston Bruins, kicking off a four-game home stand to start the campaign. The team will then travel west for a five-game Pacific Division road trip that will be the team's longest stretch away from home in 2018-19.
The longest home stand of the season will take place in February, when the Sabres will play seven consecutive home games to begin the month. The team will play eight afternoon games at KeyBank Center this season, including five of their nine Saturday home games:
  • Monday, Oct. 8, vs. Vegas, 3 p.m. (Columbus Day)
  • Saturday, Nov. 3, vs. Ottawa, 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 10, vs. Vancouver, 1 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 23, vs. Montreal, 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 8, vs. Philadelphia, 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 9, vs. Detroit, 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 10, vs. Winnipeg, 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 23, vs. Washington, 1 p.m.
Among other schedule highlights are the team's meetings with the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on Feb. 23 in Buffalo and Dec. 15 and 21 in Washington. The team's March 30 visit to New York to face off with the Islanders will take place at NYCB Live: Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Sabres will play 16 back-to-back sets for the second consecutive season and get a 10-day layoff in January, when the team's bye week runs into the NHL All-Star Break. Buffalo will conclude the season with nine of its last 10 games against Eastern Conference opponents.
