John 3:16
William Howard Marshall of Lewiston passed from this life and into the arms of his Lord and Savior, on Friday, April 6, 2018, after a brief illness.
Born on April 29, 1951, in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of Howard McConnell and Lila Grace (Parker) Marshall and the youngest of their three children.
Attending area schools, he was a 1971 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Niagara County Community College.
Bill had a love of football, with the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos ranking high on his list of favorites. In years past Bill traveled out of state with his "crew" from "The Engine House" in Batavia, New York, to cheer on the Bills.
In his youth you could usually find him on the local baseball diamond, with his cousins the Joyce brothers. As the story was told, he once hit the ball so hard, that it tore its cover completely off. The New York Yankees were his team to follow and he never missed listening to the playoffs, if they were in the running.
Always the conscientious and hard-working man, he began his employment "resume" as manager of the Imperial Hotel (Niagara Falls) at the age of 18. He then moved on to management at the Red Coach Inn, The Red Jacket Inn and the Hotel Niagara (under the tutelage of John Prozeralik). While working for John, he was also an active member of the City of Niagara Falls Planning Board, serving alongside Councilwoman Barbara Geracitano.
After leaving his position at the Hotel Niagara, Bill joined John as the chief financial officer for John Prozeralik Enterprises, where he oversaw the daily accounting activities of 15 companies. From there, he moved on to manage The Engine House in Batavia; then to the Modern Corporations as a staff accountant, where he met his wife Kathleen.
Finally Bill had achieved his passion, to resurrect his company. As an accountant and business management professional, he successfully re-established Marshall Management Services.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathleen (Stahlman) Marshall; nieces Barbara Hill, Michele (Gary) Lewis, Lila (Richard) Pescrillo and Tammie (Tim Nelson) Scibilia; and nephews, James (Jimmy) Hill and Anthony (Janet) Scibilia. In addition, he is survived by brother-in-law Richard K Stahlman; step children, Frank Waddell (Linda Broughton), Scott Waddell and Laura Waddell (David) Rowson and step grandchildren Brian Waddell, Alexander Seigo and Katherine Seigo (Ryan) O'Keefe and their children, Liam Waddell and Laurel and James O'Keefe. Bill also leaves behind many dearly loved cousins, great nieces, nephews and long time friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Lila Marshall; his sisters Martha (Babe) Hill, Barbara Marshall Scibilia; his niece Maria Scibilia Mellon; great nephew Michael John Paul and great niece Angela Renee Scibilia.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no prior services. Bill has made a selfless donation, to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo and Unyts of Western New York. The family is planning a Celebration of Life gathering sometime in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions, to the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission, Niagara Falls, NY, and the American Heart Association.
"May the road rise up to meet you,
"May the wind be always at your back,
"May the sun shine warm upon your face,
"The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
"Until we meet again,
"May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
