Move from 7th floor of Rath county office building to remodeled 2nd floor facilitates better service
The Erie County Department of Social Services has announced that, on Monday, April 30, the office of child support enforcement ("OCSE") will relocate to floor two of the Edward A. Rath county office building (95 Franklin St, Buffalo) from it current location on the seventh floor. The move will provide a larger, remodeled space for OCSE operations, and a more private setting for interactions with individuals receiving services.
OCSE enhances the well-being of families by assisting custodial parents with obtaining financial and medical support for their children. This is accomplished by locating absent parents, establishing paternity, establishing support obligations, and monitoring and enforcing those obligations. Individuals receiving benefits from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families ("TANF") or Medicaid may be required as a matter of eligibility to cooperate with the OCSE in obtaining this support. Individuals not in receipt of temporary assistance or Medicaid may also utilize the services of the OCSE.
Individuals having business with OCSE are asked to report to the second floor of the Rath Building beginning on Monday. To contact the OCSE, call 888-208-4485.
